Aluminum Can Recycling

Aluminum cans with the advantage of recyclability are cost-saving, energy-saving and earth/environment-friendly containers. Used Beverage Cans (UBC) can be reborn as new beverage cans for as many times as being recycled (Can to Can). Energy needed for reclaiming aluminum from UBC is about 3% of that for producing aluminum, which can help to prevent global warming. Mitsubishi Materials Corporation have dealt with aluminum can recycling since1970s. In 2001, a plant was established to collect UBC and produce directly slabs for can making. As a result, an integrated system of UBC recycling, from can material rolling to can manufacturing, has been established.

In 2005, we took the lead in can-making industry to receive certification of ‘EPD (Environmental Product Declarations)' and ‘Ecoleaf Environmental Label'. We endeavor to manufacture cans with low environmental load evaluated by LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) to live up to the expectations of customers and consumers.
